The Ministry of Education has warned heads of educational institutions that failure to submit “Broadsheet” replies to inspection and audit reports on time will result in the suspension or permanent cancellation of their Monthly Pay Order (MPO) facilities.
The Directiv In an order issued on Sunday (March 15) by the Internal Audit Branch of the Secondary and Higher Education Division, the ministry expressed dissatisfaction over prolonged delays in responding to audit findings. The Directorate of Inspection and Audit (DIA) regularly inspects institutions and issues instructions for submitting Broadsheet replies. However, many institutions have failed to comply for extended periods, leaving financial and administrative irregularities unresolved.
Accountability and Penaltie The Ministry has clarified that any delay in submitting these replies will now be officially categorized as “negligence of duty.” * The Ultimatum: All heads of institutions with pending Broadsheet replies must submit their responses directly to the DIA within the next 15 working days.
Legal Grounds: Failure to comply within this timeframe will trigger punitive action under Section 18.1 (b) of the ‘MPO Policy 2025’. According to this provision, defying government directives is a punishable offense that leads to the suspension or cancellation of the concerned official’s MPO.
Ensuring Financial Transparenc The primary objective of this move is to ensure financial transparency and the swift resolution of issues highlighted in audit reports. By enforcing these rules, the government seeks to curb financial mismanagement and improve the administrative standards of MPO-listed schools and colleges.
“The goal is simple: total transparency. We cannot allow financial discrepancies to linger indefinitely due to administrative silence,” a ministry official noted.
